Gary Hayman - Greenbelt, MD

Outside of actual Cajun and Zydeco bands, Gary Hayman is probably the most traveled CZ personality attending 50-60 days of festivals each year at various parts of the globe. He regularly teaches Zydeco on both coasts of the US, (including some in between spots), 7 years as a Zydeco instructor on the Zydeco Cruise (7 day cruise trips in the Caribbean), and for 3 years in Canada and 4 years at the Dutch and French Cajun/Zydeco Festivals.

He is known for getting people up and dancing Zydeco quickly -- even foreign audiences. He and two of our other instructors, Greg Benusa and Jeremy Rice are the only individuals presently documenting Zydeco steps for current and historical purposes. Come and experience his unique teaching style and have some fun while you are learning. His dance teaching experience extends to other dances and dates back to the 70's. He also has a strong background in education, being a former college professor and an instructor for the Air Force.

For the past 11 years Gary has published the twice a month famous ZydE-Zine, Cajun Zydeco Music and Dance e-mail magazine for an international audience. As you may know, it is FREE to you. He also is the WEB master for the "must visit" ZydE-Magic Cajun Zydeco WEB site which has over 1,050,000 hits at a 10,000/mo current rate and is considered the place to go for Cajun and Zydeco information.
