Cajun-Zydeco Festival Finds New Home, New Producer

 

Cajun-Zydeco Festival Set For May 13, 14 and 15 at Quiet Waters Park

 

(Deerfield Beach, FL – December 8, 2004) –  Bobby Rodriguez Productions, the producer of the world famous Florida Renaissance Festival announced today that his company will produce the nations largest outdoor Cajun/Zydeco Festival for 2005. The Annual Cajun/Zydeco Crawfish Festival will be held, May 13 through 15  at a new home - Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach.

 

“I decided to take over producing this event when the City of Fort Lauderdale discontinued producing events. The Cajun/Zydeco festival has a long tradition in Broward County and it would have been a shame if it did not continue. With my breadth of experience producing themed events it was just a natural for me to help keep the tradition alive,” said Bobby Rodriquez, executive producer. “I moved the event to Quiet Waters Park, as it is a venue my staff is very familiar with and it is just a beautiful setting in North Broward that would target both the Broward and Palm Beach audiences.”

The festival will continue with all of the traditional activities of previous Cajun/Zydeco festivals such as: Gumbo cook-offs, daily Crawfish Eating Contests, the Crazee Kids Zone (full scale children’s area), Crawfish races and arts and craft vendors. Live music will be continuous with three stages of authentic Cajun and zydeco music jam-packed with outstanding talented performers and ample dancing on four wooden dance floors. And of course, the festival would not be complete without the over 35,000 pounds of live crawfish and plenty of hot 'n’ spicy Cajun/Creole food served by area restaurants.
